{"id":2662,"date":"2021-04-09T14:38:55","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T13:38:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.salahadeenmosque.org.uk\/?p=2662"},"modified":"2021-04-09T14:38:55","modified_gmt":"2021-04-09T13:38:55","slug":"forgiveness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/salahadeenmosque.org.uk\/index.php\/2021\/04\/09\/forgiveness\/","title":{"rendered":"Forgiveness"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dear brothers, one of the many blessings of the month of\nRamadan is the potential for seeking forgiveness from Allah SWT. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And Allah SWT loves it when we ask Him for forgiveness. In\nfact, the greatest trick that Shaitaan plays on us is that he convinces us that\nthe sins we commit are either too great or too many. It is the biggest achievement\nof Shaitaan if he can convince us that we are beyond saving and that we are too\nbad as people to ask Allah SWT for forgiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, one of the hadiths mentioned of the Prophet SAWS\nspeaks of this point. It is translated to say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Messenger of Allah (\ufdfa) said,\n&#8220;By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, were you not to commit sins, Allah\nwould replace you with a people who would commit sins and then seek forgiveness\nfrom Allah; and Allah would forgive them&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside this, we have the reminder of Sura Al-Tahrim, ayat\n8 which is translated to say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O believers! Turn to Allah in\nsincere repentance, so your Lord may absolve you of your sins and admit you\ninto Gardens, under which rivers flow, on the Day Allah will not disgrace the\nProphet or the believers with him. Their light will shine ahead of them and on\ntheir right. They will say, \u201cOur Lord! Perfect our light for us, and forgive\nus. \u02f9For\u02fa You are truly Most Capable of everything.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dear brothers, we can ask Allah SWT for forgiveness at any\ntime and for anything. This is the majesty of our Creator and the magnitude of\nthe mercy we are shown. But not only are we blessed in forgiveness, Allah SWT\nrewards us for seeking forgiveness as mentioned in the 70<sup>th<\/sup> ayat of\nSura Al-Furqan which is translated to say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for those who repent, believe,\nand do good deeds, they are the ones whose evil deeds Allah will change into\ngood deeds. For Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And so, dear brothers, especially with the month of Ramadan soon\nto arrive, this reminder concludes with 3 practical tips regarding todays\nreminder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Seek forgiveness from Allah SWT with sincerity.\nWhat this means is that we do not only ask for forgiveness but make an active\ndecision to avoid falling in the same sin again. The imam reminded us of ayat 135\nin Sura Imran which says:<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>\u02f9They are\u02fa those who, upon\ncommitting an evil deed or wronging themselves, remember Allah and seek\nforgiveness and do not knowingly persist in sin\u2014and who forgives sins except\nAllah?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Once you have sought forgiveness, move on with\nyour life. One of the tricks of Shaitaan is to make you dwell on the mistakes\nyou have made in the past. This is a key trick for him to keep you feeling\nworthless, rejected and sad. Only he is the outcast and not us and so we need\nto seek forgiveness from Allah SWT with sincerity but once we have done this, learn\nto forgive ourselves and move on with our lives and not dwell in the mistakes\nof the past. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lastly, we need to demonstrate the mercy Allah\nSWT shows us on other people around us. If we are wrong by others, we need to\ndemonstrate that same mercy and forgive them. It serves no positive purpose to\nhold onto bad feelings towards others and so we should also be merciful.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Dear brothers, this coming month is the month of forgiveness.\nLets use this reminder to make the month a true month of mercy for all. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear brothers, one of the many blessings of the month of Ramadan is the potential for seeking forgiveness from Allah SWT.
