The imam began with the three ayat from Sura As-Saba which\nis translated to say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The disbelievers vow, \u201cWe will\nnever believe in this Quran, nor in those \u02f9Scriptures\u02fa before it.\u201d If only you\ncould see when the wrongdoers will be detained before their Lord, throwing\nblame at each other! The lowly \u02f9followers\u02fa will say to the arrogant \u02f9leaders\u02fa,\n\u201cHad it not been for you, we would certainly have been believers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The arrogant will respond to the\nlowly, \u201cDid we ever hinder you from guidance after it came to you? In fact, you\nwere wicked \u02f9on your own\u02fa.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lowly will say to the\narrogant, \u201cNo! It was your plotting by day and night\u2014when you ordered us to\ndisbelieve in Allah and to set up equals with Him.\u201d They will \u02f9all\u02fa hide\n\u02f9their\u02fa remorse when they see the torment. And We will put shackles around the\nnecks of the disbelievers. Will they be rewarded except for what they used to\ndo?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dear brothers, we return back to the houses of Allah SWT today\nfor the first Jummuah in a month in this country. However, we can see that life\nis far from normal as it is the case for most people in the world today. However,\nthis test should not distract us also from the injustices that we are seeing\nbeing done at the hands of oppressors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the Uyghurs to Yemen, from France to Palestine we hear\nstill of brothers and sisters that are being persecuted, even in these times.\nAnd we don\u2019t need to look at just Muslims or so far away, in this country for\nexample the needs of the less fortunate has exponentially risen due to the injustices\nof the social systems in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unfortunately, it is the leadership that encourages the\ninjustices and so as Muslims we need to be patient in the justice that will be served\nby Allah SWT. The imam referenced ayat 21 of Sura Ibrahim in which Allah SWT\naddresses the conversation of those who are causing injustices in the world and\nwhen they return to Him. It\u2019s translated to say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They will all appear before\nAllah, and the lowly \u02f9followers\u02fa will appeal to the arrogant \u02f9leaders\u02fa, \u201cWe\nwere your \u02f9dedicated\u02fa followers, so will you \u02f9then\u02fa protect us from Allah\u2019s\ntorment in any way?\u201d They will reply, \u201cHad Allah guided us, we would have\nguided you. \u02f9Now\u02fa it is all the same for us whether we suffer patiently or\nimpatiently, there is no escape for us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And so dear brothers, todays message concludes with the\npoint that we need to exercise patience, especially in the times that we are\nliving in and also that this is really the time to shine and step up as Muslims\nfor all those around us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In these difficult times, people are feeling lost and they\nare looking around for role models. Let us be those role models in our manners,\nour conduct and our interactions with one another. Now, more than ever before,\nwe show others what it means to be the followers of Prophet Muhammad SAWS and be\nthe examples of kindness, compassion and charity onto others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dear brothers, injustices and tests will always exist. That\nis the simple truth of this life. What we need to remember is that when we\nreturn to our Creator, we will be asked not on the tests and the injustices but\nhow we dealt with them. Did we return to our Creator in prayer and thanks or\ndid we lose our way when the going got tough?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
