Dear brothers, we are living in a time where tests are clear\nto see. From injustices to the latest Coronavirus epidemic, there isn\u2019t a day\ngoes by where there is an element of stress or worry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many of us are able to cope with this without the need for\nany help. Alhamdullilah for the strength and resolve to do so. And other times,\nwe require help when it\u2019s needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just like a health issue requires a doctor, we also have\nissues that are either spiritual in nature or maybe even changes we\u2019d like to\nsee in our lives. Of course, with everything there is a right and a wrong way\nto go about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unfortunately, there is more and more cases of the wrong\napproach being taken by people in regards to these types of issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Todays\u2019 reminder is on the danger of falling into the trap\nof relying on remedies from these so-called spiritual doctors or peers. A lot\nof these people prey on the pain and suffering of others and they offer an easy\nway out of the problem. However, the danger is that they use magic or sorcery\nto get the job done, which goes against our religion and the path given to us\nby the Prophet SAWS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The imam mentioned the following hadith which speaks of\nthese people. It\u2019s translated to say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The Messenger of Allah\nsaid: ‘Whoever has intercourse with a menstruating woman, or with a woman in\nher rear, or who goes to a fortuneteller and believes what he says, he has\ndisbelieved in that which was revealed to Muhammad.'”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dear brothers, this is a real test in for our ummah. There\nare people today advertising these kind of services on TV channels we all have\naccess to. And just to be clear, it is a real test and one that we have been\nwarned away from. The 102nd<\/sup> ayat of Sura Baqarah confirms it when\ntranslated it says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n And they followed [instead] what\nthe devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who\ndisbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which\nwas revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the two angels\ndo not teach anyone unless they say, “We are a trial, so do not disbelieve\n<\/p>\n\n\n[by practicing magic]\n\n\n\n .” And [yet] they learn from them that by which they\ncause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone\nthrough it except by permission of Allah . And the people learn what harms them\nand does not benefit them. But the Children of Israel certainly knew that\nwhoever purchased the magic would not have in the Hereafter any share. And\nwretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n And so dear brothers, keep away from anyone who is offering\ntaweez or amulets, peer sahibs and fortune tellers. The outcome of your tests\nlie only with Allah SWT and so remember that the believer is he who turns to\nhis Lord at a time when he is in need. Let us use today\u2019s reminder to not\nforget this fact and steer clear of traps such as the one\u2019s mentioned today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Dear brothers, we are living in a time where tests are clear to see.
